Peer Mentors

Beyond our Peer Support Services, Paraquad’s Peer Mentoring Program provides participants with information, resources and opportunities to participate in social activities. Participants support each other by sharing their experiences, coping strategies and resources as well as celebrating small victories and major milestones.

Mentors must pass a background check and complete training before being paired.

Program participants will partner with Peer Mentors on topics including:

  • Living with a disability

  • Building self-confidence

  • Managing care

  • Quality of life

  • Independent Living Philosophy

  • Relationships

Peer Mentors are individuals with disabilities who:

  • Have developed wisdom or expertise related to living with their disability

  • Are willing to share their knowledge to assist participants going through similar experiences

  • Are willing to partner with a support participants who are adapting to their independence

Contact Kiland Sampa at ksampa@paraquad.org to learn more about the peer mentoring program and our other Peer Support Services.
