On June 24th, a federal district court in Missouri ruled that all adult Missouri Medicaid recipients can obtain medically necessary incontinence briefs. The Court granted the plaintiffs’ motion for summary judgment and permanently enjoined the State from adhering to its policy of categorizing these supplies as “personal hygiene” items.

There is a Missouri budget proposal on the table for 2013 which aims to cut off Medicaid health coverage to nearly 3000 individuals who receive Supplemental Aid to the Blind. As we wrap up the Missouri legislative session, our attention switches to the Federal government . . . in particular the Federal deficit.
