Like many people around the world, we get our current news, breaking news, and critical information through the internet. As a deaf person, I am often left behind because I cannot hear what is being said on the video clips.  The rapid pace of this world’s exchange of information requires that I stay on top of it for my work and for interaction with other people.  It is important to me and millions of deaf people in America and around the world that the video clips on the internet be accessible for everyone.  #captionTHIS is a social media movement that will spread the word to caption video clips all across the world wide web.  Then perhaps, millions of deaf people and I will be able to access the same information as everyone else on the internet.
